Three Things To Do On a Saturday Morning in Eau Claire, WI

π½ The Heartbeat of Saturday Mornings: Eau Claire’s Farmers Market
Located at Phoenix Park, this market is more than just produce—it’s a local tradition that goes back over a hundred years. With up to 70 vendors, you’ll find everything from organic asparagus π₯¬ and fresh eggs π₯ to homemade pasta and maple syrup π. I even got to chat with Helen (who might be the best salesperson in town π) and Jill from Jill & Lilly’s Pasta, who brings authentic Sicilian flavors to the Midwest using traditional Italian equipment and locally-sourced flour.
It’s the kind of place where you’ll run into friends π€, meet your neighbor’s dog π, and maybe snag a sweet treat or two π«. Daisy definitely stole a few hearts while we were exploring.
π¨ Bonus Surprise: Eau Claire’s Art Scene on Display
While heading out, we stumbled upon the North Hill Spring Market—an art festival π right by the river with live music πΆ, handmade crafts πΌοΈ, and even more good vibes. It’s just another reminder of how much this community loves supporting local creators. I caught up with Megan, a college friend of mine, who runs Woodsota Works with her dad, making stunning Midwest-inspired woodwork signs πͺ΅.
π³ Brunch at The Nucleus—A Must for Foodies
All that walking worked up an appetite, so we made our way over to The Nucleus Café βπ½οΈ on Water Street. This local gem has been serving up amazing brunches for over two decades. With multiple dining areas (including the cozy Racy’s Coffee Shop πΎ next door, where dogs are welcome!), it’s no surprise this place was voted Eau Claire’s top breakfast, brunch, and vegan menu spot π₯π±.
π An Afternoon in River Prairie—Nature, Yoga & Ice Cream
To wind down the day, we drove over to River Prairie in Altoona, just outside Eau Claire π. This area is perfect for a leisurely stroll πΆβοΈ with trails, a splash pad π¦, and a creek where Daisy couldn’t resist dipping her paws πΎ. There’s even Yoga in the Park π§βοΈ on Saturday mornings, a seasonal treat worth checking out.
For foodies ππ¦, there’s no shortage of dining options here either—Island Parkside, 44 Below for burgers and ice cream, and 44 North with arcade games πΉοΈ and a fun, family-friendly vibe.
We finished the day along the River Prairie Riverwalk π , a peaceful trail that follows the Chippewa River and offers beautiful views, space to bike π΄βοΈ, run π, or just reflect on the day.
